BRAC Uganda’s youth community health promoter (YCHP) program will train a cadre of young health workers to provide their peers (women aged 15-24) with access to modern contraceptives while delivering education on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Uganda. This innovative peer-to-peer approach will reduce existing barriers to counseling and access of contraceptives. In addition, the YCHPs will earn income from sales of health goods, providing an income generating activity while enhancing the program’s sustainability.
