Ensemble Sécurisons le Futur (ESF) will promote the uptake of family planning (FP) and birth spacing among young newly married or marrying couples in three rural municipalities of Burkina Faso. Community-based health workers (CBHWs) will be trained to deliver information, education and communication on family planning and counsel couples who are newly married or plan to marry on integrating birth spacing. Access to FP products such as birth control pills and condoms will also be facilitated through CBHWs. The project will also conduct free FP days, strengthen the supply of FP at local health centers and conduct awareness sessions targeted towards the wider community in order to ensure that the community supports young married couples in their choice of birth spacing.
