UGANET is conducting girls running clubs (GRCs) among refugee girls and women (15-35 years) in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda. The GRCs aim to prevent and respond to intimate partner violence (IPV). Its curriculum is divided into four six-week training modules which, alongside physical training and sport, target topics such as self-discovery, self-worth, and building community. The GRC also acts a forum for girls and women to learn about IPV and reproductive health. In addition to the GRCs, community outreach is conducted to promote awareness about IPV and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
