The project aims to reduce school drop-out and absenteeism due to menstruation among adolescent girls in rural India through improved access to low cost sanitary pads and a safe and discreet pain relief patch to relieve dysmenorrhea (cramping in the lower abdomen) during menstruation. Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) awareness will be created by engaging adolescent girls in government schools through frontline health workers (ASHAs) and local women’s groups. The pain relief patch is a single use product that provides heat therapy in a safe, discreet, non-chemical, non-drug method of pain relief.
