Community-based Psycho-social Intervention to Reduce Postpartum Depression and Improve Infant Development in the Refugee Community

FacebookTwitterLinked In

Start Date: 30/06/2018- End Date: 31/10/2020

The project will treat mental health issues in adolescent mothers with infants (up to 12 months) belonging to refugees in Bangladesh, through community based group counselling sessions on reproductive health, postpartum depression and anxiety, and parental stress, using psychological tools to address the issues, infant care and play-based stimulation. By studying the effectiveness of treatment through a randomized experimental design, the program will deliver positive outcomes and the results will provide significant insight into and shape future interventions in the field of maternal mental health and early childhood development.
