This project will transition a smartphone-based task-sharing approach with three innovative technologies, mPowering women to save lives:
1. A proven smartphone application “app” developed for community health workers (CHWs) to teach women about breast and cervical health, and to empower them to seek care earlier while these diseases are more easily treated and cured, to improve survival.
2. A proven smartphone-based method to train non-physician health workers to
perform VIA enhanced with digital cervicography and receive ongoing training
and mentorship through text messaging of images.
3. A proven smartphone-based app that will collect and archive all cervical
cancer images and breast health outcomes, with data/image sharing among 150
sites (and/or user groups between regional sites) as well as data archiving and
creation of an electronic health record.
