The Islamic Development Banks has announced the ‘Transform Fund Call for Innovation 2020’ will focus entirely on supporting Member Country’s long-term preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The call for innovations is focused on advanced technology, health supply chain management, low-cost rapid tests and screening, and capacity building.

The Booz Allen Foundation
The Booz Allen Foundation has established a $1 million Innovation Fund to help nonprofits, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, innovators, startups and small businesses improve COVID-19 relief efforts through data, technology, and diverse intellectual capital.

Health Security & Pandemics
MIT Solve’s 2020 Global Challenge is awarding over $1.5 million USD to innovations relating to health security and pandemics. They are seeking tech innovations that can slow and track the spread of an emerging outbreak and solutions that focus on preventative and mitigation measures that strengthen access to affordable primary healthcare systems, enhance disease surveillance systems, and improve healthcare supply chains.

Development Innovation Ventures (DIV)
USAID’s Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) has flexible, tiered grant funding to test new ideas, take strategic risks, build evidence of what works, and advance the best solutions. They look for solutions that demonstrate rigorous evidence of impact, cost-effectiveness, and a viable pathway to scale and sustainability. Funding opportunities range from $200,000 to $1.5 million USD based on the stage of the idea.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Wellcome, and Mastercard announced $125 million in seed funding for COVID-19 response innovations. TThe COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator will play a catalytic role by accelerating and evaluating new and repurposed drugs and biologics to treat patients with COVID-19 in the immediate term, and other viral pathogens in the longer-term. The Accelerator is focused on identifying, assessing, developing, and scaling-up treatments.

The Open Road Alliance has funding opportunities ranging from charitable grants up to $100,000 USD and loans in amounts up to $1 million USD. Their loan program covers lost even revenue, accelerating incoming emergency funds, and co-investing to support social enterprises.

Open Call: Building Resilient Health Systems through the COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond
