What we do / Our portfolios / Maternal and newborn health

Innovations to improve care, outcomes, and survival for mothers and newborns.

The Challenge

Maternal and newborn health remains one of the most critical challenges in global health, especially in low and middle-income countries (LMICs):

3.3 million

pregnant women will die between 2020-2030

94%

of all maternal deaths occur in low and middle-income countries

47%

of all under-5 deaths occur in the first 28 days of life

Most of these deaths are preventable with access to quality healthcare

Impact: By the numbers
