Finance Manager - Compliance

Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) is seeking a Finance Manager – Compliance (FMC). The position will independently oversee the Innovator Compliance Unit, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. With over 300 active projects in over 90 countries, the FMC will lead, manage, and conduct compliance reviews of innovators financial activities, on-site and in-house. This role plays a critical part in conducting compliance assessments and audits on innovator projects; providing recommendations to increase innovator financial capacity on a case-by-case basis.

Finance Co-op Student 2019-2020

Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) is seeking a Finance Co-op student to assist the Finance Team in providing financial services to both the Programs and Corporate teams at Grand Challenges Canada. The Finance Co-op student will perform a range of professional and detailed accounting activities requiring good knowledge and fundamental applications of accounting theory, principles and practices. Key requirements and responsibilities include:

  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting or Finance or equivalent program, minimum 3rd year completed
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly financial memos for the Audit and Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Process financial payments, reconciling Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

Finance Co-Op Student (Compliance) 2019-2020

Grand Challenges Canada (GCC) is seeking a Finance Compliance Co-op student to assist the Compliance Unit review innovators activities in-house. The Co-op student will help conduct compliance assessments and audits on innovator projects; and will also assist the Compliance Unit in drawing conclusions on the adequacy of the organizations’ due diligence processes and funder compliance. Key requirements and responsibilities include:

  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting or Finance or equivalent program, minimum 3rd year completed
  • Assist in the development of compliance/audit objectives, scopes, audit programs, and compliance tests in collaboration with the Finance and Programs Teams
  • Prepare compliance reports and presentations ensuring they are clear, concise and well organized
