Our approach
We support bold, locally driven solutions that improve health, equity, and well-being for people in underserved communities around the world. We’re backed by the Government of Canada and global partners who believe in innovation as a force for equity and transformation.
What we do
At the heart of our work is the Grand Challenges model—a proven approach that identifies critical barriers to global health and development and launches open calls for the best ideas to solve them.
Overcoming barriers through innovation

What we fund
We focus on complex challenges that demand cross-cutting solutions—bringing together science, business, policy, and community insight to deliver real-world change. Every investment we make is guided by a gender lens, a commitment to local leadership, and a drive to shift power and resources toward those closest to the issues.
Bold innovation. Strategic support. Real results.

How we invest
We fund promising innovations and support them with the tools, capital, and connections needed to move from early testing to sustained impact.
As innovations mature, we support them to scale through a range of pathways—including public-sector adoption, integration into national systems, and private-sector growth. Our portfolio includes both mission-driven startups and social enterprises, as well as innovations that have been adopted by governments and global health actors.
From idea to impact
