Suruthi Ragulan is a Program Analyst for the Global Mental Health program at Grand Challenges Canada. She supports the broader goals of the portfolio by working with innovators in both the seed and transition- to- scale streams, focusing on negotiating funding agreements and ensuring continued support through the course of the project.
Suruthi has worked in a variety of progressive roles to coordinate and develop programs that aim to improve access to care and address the upstream factors that shape health outcomes. Prior to joining GCC, she managed several projects at York University that focused on bolstering institutional capacity to better support student mental health. She also developed and managed an arts-based health promotion program with a focus on youth mental health in rural Sri Lanka. Suruthi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. Following this, she completed a Masters of Public Health from the University of Alberta, where she studied strategies to increase the uptake of evidence in policymaking decisions within the Sri Lankan context.
