Nasrat works as Senior Manager on the Global Health Innovation Transition To Scale team where he provides managerial and coaching support to the team. Furthermore, he also plays a key role in the operations management of the Global Health Innovation team.
Nasrat was trained as a medical doctor in Afghanistan and later completed a Master of Public Health degree at St. Louis university in the US. He worked for nearly two decades with international organizations including the UN agencies. He worked in partnership/grant management, project management, and policy/advocacy support in the areas of reproductive health, primary health care, aid coordination, pharmaceuticals, and sanitation & hygiene. He contributed to national public health programs, strategies and policies to scale up life saving services to the most vulnerable people in Afghanistan. He also served as volunteer presidents of the Afghanistan National Public Health Association, and Afghanistan Fulbright Association.
