Lucia is Peruvian, of mixed ancestry, and a settler in unceded Algonquin Anishinaabe territory.
Lucia has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the I3 team, Lucia was the Project Manager of the Indigenous Solutions Lab on Diabetes Reduction at the Raven Indigenous Impact Foundation, where she led a multi-stakeholder process to create a social finance tool that would fund Indigenous-led diabetes reduction interventions in six First Nations. She is a certified Trauma of Money facilitator and eating disorder recovery advocate. At I3, Lucia helps with the design and implementation of the Indigenous Innovation Lab – a program that provides funding and wrap-around supports to Indigenous innovators in Canada.
