Jeff Cyr is the Vice President of the Indigenous Innovation Initiative. He is responsible for bringing his visionary leadership and strength for setting strategic direction to the Indigenous Innovation Team at Grand Challenges Canada. An accomplished Indigenous person, his passion for making a difference in Indigenous communities is exceeded by his astounding success in Indigenous social and economic innovation.
Jeff Cyr brings a wealth of demonstrated experience to his role at Grand Challenges Canada, including currently working as Managing Partner of Raven Capital Partners and previously being employed as the Executive Director of the National Associations of Friendship Centres. Of his many accomplishments in this role, Jeff was instrumental in the launch of the inaugural Indigenous Innovation Summit in Canada and the Indigenous Innovation Demonstration Fund. Jeff’s ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships throughout all communities is demonstrated by his work with national organizations including as Chair of the Institute Advisory Board on Indigenous health for the Canadian Institute of Health Research and Senior Director of Partnerships with the Moosehide Campaign Development Society. Jeff has worked in senior roles with the Government of Canada and has a depth of academic knowledge in the areas of international policy, policing and finance. Jeff is a sought-after speaker and advisor, both in Canada and on the international stage.
Jeff’s transformative leadership is underscored by his impressive academic record. He holds a Master degree in International Relations and most recently completed studies in Finance at the University of Oxford. He has brought his extensive knowledge to Carleton University while working as a Professor.
