Deb Aguillon is the Senior Communications Officer for the Global Mental Health program. In this role, she leads the development and execution of communications strategies to support the portfolio and raise awareness of mental health innovations working to improve young people’s mental health and wellbeing in low-resource settings.
Deb has experience working in various capacities with non-profits in human rights, health advocacy, food justice and community development — including Dying With Dignity Canada and the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council. Before joining Grand Challenges Canada, Deb worked in communications at the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers. She supported digital and internal communications, events and stakeholder relations.
Deb holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Program Management for International Development from the Humber Business School and a Joint Honours BA in Anthropology and International Development from York University.
