David is currently serving as the Acting Corporate Secretary for Grand Challenges Canada.
A securities lawyer by training, David is called to the New York State Bar and began his career as a Corporate Associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City, where he practiced primarily in Capital Markets. Following that, he worked at the Permanent Mission of the Canada to the United Nations in the Legal, Economic and Social Affairs Section. He also spent several years working at the University of Toronto in the Office of the Governing Council.
David holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Trinity College as well as a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where he teaches in the area of Aboriginal Law and Policy.
David is Anishinaabe, and a member of the Ardoch Algonquin First Nation.
