Cyriac Alappat is an Investment Manager with the Every Woman Every Child Innovation Marketplace, a strategic alliance of development innovation organizations including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, the United States Agency for International Development and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation. The Innovation Marketplace is hosted at Grand Challenges Canada.
Cyriac is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. His primary expertise is in venture capital and start-up advisory. Prior to joining Grand Challenges Canada, Cyriac co-founded a digital angel investing platform called DealHall, where he grew the network to 200 investors and 50 portfolio companies. Furthermore, he prospected healthcare conglomerates and health authorities in the Middle East to develop a corporate innovation lab focused on disruptive digital technologies. Cyriac started his career at Ernst & Young where he specialized in the audit practice for 3 years. From there, he moved to the world of start-ups and venture capital, where he worked with numerous fast growing companies in the Toronto/Waterloo region.
