Amanda Chiu is a Finance Partner at Grand Challenges Canada (GCC), where her main responsibility is to provide financial support to the Programs area of the organization, enabling innovators to meet pre-award and post-award financial requirements. Amanda conducts institutional risk assessments, reviews innovators’ budgets during the negotiation process, reviews innovators’ financial reports and assists throughout the life-cycle of projects. She also provides financial guidance to the Programs/Investments Teams and leads innovator financial information sessions.
Prior to joining Grand Challenges Canada, Amanda worked in a corporate tax advisory and reporting role at a large Canadian public company and practiced tax and audit at a national accounting firm, servicing small and large companies in various industries. Amanda obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and obtained her CPA, CA designation in 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her vegetable garden, spoiling her dog, traveling and snowboarding.
