Abdul Mohamed is an Investment Manager with the Transition to Scale program at Grand Challenges Canada. Abdul oversees Grand Challenges Canada’s mHealth portfolio and is responsible for providing Grand Challenges Canada’s portfolio companies with accelerator support.
Prior to joining Grand Challenges Canada, Abdul worked in Ghana as an investment officer with EWB Ventures. Abdul helped grow EWB’s West Africa portfolio, through sourcing new investment opportunities and due diligence on businesses based Ghana and Nigeria. Abdul was instrumental is shaping EWB’s investment thesis and risk tolerance in the FinTech, agriculture and education sectors. Before EWB Ventures, Abdul worked at Ontario Power Generation where he led the design and execution of capital projects in excess of $20MM. Abdul holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Ryerson University and a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
