This project will test the feasibility and acceptability of a geosocial-networking app to address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) against lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LBT) women in Brazil. The interactive app will map risky areas for LBT women, allow users to enter information on incidences of violence and discrimination, provide personalized safety plans and links to free legal and mental health support services, post rape health care and HIV/STI treatment. 800 LBT women who are part of the Brazilian National Transgender Association and the Brazilian LGBTI Association will be recruited to test and evaluate the app. Empowerment/development training will help low income LBT women to break away from poverty and violence by training them in setting up small businesses or local cooperatives, and linking them to financial resources and job opportunities.
