The Let Girls Shine project will train school aged girls on how to make reusable sanitary pads from locally available raw materials in Blantrye and Lilongwe, Malawi. A train-the-trainer program teaches women who are low income/unemployed and have at least a secondary school education to conduct monthly workshops on reusable sanitary pad production for girls. Reusable menstrual pads produced will be sold locally with profits shared between girls and trainers. Monthly menstrual health hygiene education campaigns will also be conducted at schools in the two cities and in peripheral areas.
