Start Date: 01/09/2018- End Date: 30/06/2021

To address a major gap in technology availability, PATH and Sinapi Biomedical have collaborated to design and develop the Ellavi uterine balloon tamponade (UBT) to treat maternal mortality from postpartum hemorrhage. This low-cost, fully assembled UBT was designed specifically for use in low-resource health facilities. The Ellavi UBT addresses issues with the cost, assembly and safety of other devices, providing this lifesaving technology to healthcare workers.
