Stepping Stones aims to improve the quality of early childhood development services in India's Anganwadi centers through staff training, the application of a family-centered curriculum, and through the use of public-private partnerships. Anganwadi workers are trained in early education practices through partnerships with private preschools. Volunteers are trained and certified before assisting Anganwadi workers with the curriculum. The project has created an enhanced curriculum for 3-6 years old children, and a parenting programme for parents of children 0-3 years old. The project aims for improvement in cognitive and behavioural measures for children and an increase in attendance at Anganwadi centers.
