Demonstration of gentle oil massage at study clinic
To address the problem of micronutrient deficiency in infants and improve physical and neurodevelopment, safe nano-particles that encapsulate micro-nutrients and interact with the outermost layer of skin to enhance penetration can be delivered through an oil platform. Infant oil massage has been a traditional practice in India and will be leveraged to implement a technological innovation for delivery of micronutrients using fortified oils. This technology is relatively inexpensive and has a potential for scale-up.
