Start Date: 01/10/2017- End Date: 31/12/2019

This early intervention study will investigate whether a community-based training program for carers of young children affected by newborn brain injury can improve early brain development and quality of life for Ugandan children and their families. The program will test the effectiveness of using expert carers to run community-based training groups for families of infants with early disability from newborn brain injury, examining which factors are most effective in bringing about change while also assessing the challenges to scaling up the programme.
