This project will launch the BuzzClip, a small and discreet wearable for children and adults living with vision loss. The device detects obstacles that may lie directly in the wearer's path and provides alerts through intuitive vibrations, allowing the wearer to safely navigate around objects. The BuzzClip significantly enhances early brain development in marginalized blind youth by drastically improving orientation and mobility at an early age. This in turn empowers them to be more independent, more confident, more social, more willing to learn or try new opportunities, thus giving them a greater chance to beat the odds and reach their full potential.
