Jocalyn Clark PhDConsultant
Jocalyn Clark is a consultant to Grand Challenges Canada, providing support and strategic expertise in writing, publication planning and program development.
In addition, Dr. Clark is Senior Editor at PLOS Medicine, the leading open access medical journal, where she is responsible for commissioning and overseeing the journal’s Magazine section, as well as handling research articles. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Formerly, Dr. Clark was editorial fellow and then Assistant Editor at the BMJ (British Medical Journal) in London (2002–2008). She teaches and writes extensively in the areas of global health, women’s health, publication ethics and the integrity of medical literature. She is a member of the Society of General & Internal Medicine, the Council of Science Editors, and the World Association of Medical Editors where she helps develop editorial policies. She has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology, and a Master’s degree and PhD in public health.
