Our People

David Brook is Director of Strategic Projects at Grand Challenges Canada. Based in Ottawa, Mr. Brook works closely with Dr. Singer and Mr. Taylor to deliver on Grand Challenges Canada’s mandate, mission and priorities.

Prior to joining Grand Challenges Canada, Mr. Brook was the founder and President of DBk Consulting Inc. a consulting firm specializing in innovation, health and environmental policy, commercialization, and citizen engagement. During that time, Mr. Brook worked as a strategist, lead researcher, analyst and project manager on a wide array of projects and processes both individually and in conjunction with several leading consulting groups and not-for-profit organizations. Mr. Brook has worked with a number of small- and medium-sized green energy companies helping them to develop business strategies and to commercialize new products and technologies. Prior to founding DBk Consulting, Mr. Brook worked as a Senior Research Associate with the Public Policy Forum in Ottawa.

Mr. Brook has an Honours Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (International Development) and a Masters Degree in Political Economy from Carleton University.
