Teesta Soman is the Director of the Every Woman Every Child Innovation Marketplace, a strategic alliance of development innovation organizations including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, the United States Agency for International Development, the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation and UBS Optimus Foundation. The Marketplace is hosted at Grand Challenges Canada.
Teesta Basu Soman is a Pediatric Neurologist with her medical degree from Delhi University and post graduate medical training from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Harvard Medical School (Massachusetts General Hospital). She also holds an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and member of American Academy of Neurology. She has served on staff at Sick Kids, where she still sees patients, and has an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. She has also worked in industry, most recently as Associate Director of Global Medical at Biogen and previously at GSK.
