Ken is Grand Challenges Canada’s communications strategist, overseeing the development and execution of GCC’s communications strategy, in support of key programs, events, and initiatives. Ken covers all public communications products including news releases, blogs, online content, presentations, and brand communications, across print, broadcast, digital, and social media. He is also responsible for media relations, executive communications advice, and communications support in partner relations.
Ken has worked in digital communications across the international development, humanitarian aid, and intergovernmental sectors. Notably, he has driven digital and brand strategies for the Mastercard Foundation, Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders, the International Institute for Sustainable Development, the United Nations Environment Program, the World Conservation Union, the International Development Research Centre, and the Southern African Development Community. In his spare time, Ken is an active water polo player, goalie, a referee and official with Water Polo Canada, and a member of the Board of Directors of Ontario Water Polo. Ken was previously a board director for the AIDS Committee of Toronto, and Dignitas International. Ken holds degrees from the University of Toronto in international development, and from Trent University in biological and environmental sciences.
